What to do when you’re internet isn’t working:

At Student Housing we provide broadband free of charge to every tenant. The internet package we chose for your property will be the fastest available in your area. If you’re internet is not working please follow the steps below. We will need some further information from you in order to diagnose the issue so please try the steps below.

90% of internet faults are issues on the street that the service provider will need to fix; you can check if there is an issue with your coverage by clicking the logo of your service provisor above.

Slow Speed

Are you experiencing slow internet speeds? Please head to www.SpeedTest.net to complete a speed test. You’ll need to tell us when you experience slow internet so please complete a minimum of 3 speed tests throughout the day.

We’re guaranteed minimum speeds of 18mbps download and 1mbps upload. To watch Netflix in HD you’ll need a minimum of 2mbps.

Wi-Fi Issue

Are you unable to find the wifi network on the available wifi network list? Try to re-set your router by turning it off at the mains and turning it back on 30s later.

Some Routers have a “Wi-Fi” button please make sure the wifi light is showing on your router.

If you’re still struggling to find your Wi-Fi signal please use a small pin and hold down the reset button on the back of the router for 30s until all lights flash. This will reset the router to factory settings.

Connection Issue

If your device has connected to the Wi-Fi but you’re unable to connect to the internet. It could be that there is a known outage in the area. If you head to your suppliers website (or click the providers logo below) you can search for known issues.

If there is no known issues in your area you may require an engineer visit. please contact us and we will contact to your ISP to arrange a visit by an engineer.

Depending on your providor it may take up to 7 working days for the engineer to visit.

If none of the above recommendations have rectified your issues; please tell us, we will speak with your internet service provider and arrange an engineer to visit. Unfortunately depending on the service provider their can be a waiting list of up to 7 working days before we get an engineer too you. We will keep you updated as we progress with your case.
